So, this is a story I've written and haven't exactly finished editing. The beginning is going to get a full rewrite (when time will finally allow). But you get no lead in, no clues. :P

My breath froze, sitting colder in my lungs than winter itself. What was she talking about? I drew my sights toward Sod like a magnet and tried to swallow. Anger burned in my belly like hot coals, searing through the cold spots she created with her calculated words.

And touch.

I yanked my wrist back, breaking her ironclad grip.

In possibly the most judgment-clouding, pride-induced move I’d ever made, I turned my back on her and headed toward the door, exposing my most vulnerable point, just to prove she didn’t scare me--that her words held no weight with me.
